Physician Assistant Clinical Rotation (Florida)
Students enrolled in a physician assistant (PA) baccalaureate or master's program at our affiliated education institutions complete their clinical experiences or internships at Mayo Clinic and other practice sites as part of their education.
This clinical rotation gives physician assistant students the hands-on clinical experience they need in a health care setting with a diverse patient population.

To participate in Mayo School of Health Sciences' Physician Assistant Clinical Rotation at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., you must be enrolled in a PA program at one of these affiliated academic institutions.
Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., is a comprehensive medical facility providing advanced programs in education and research that support the highest quality patient care. Campus activity is conducted in the Mayo Clinic Hospital and the interconnected Davis, Mayo and Cannaday buildings.
The ambulatory facilities provide clinical services ranging from primary to specialty care and advanced procedures. Mayo Clinic Hospital provides comprehensive inpatient services, including surgical and medical intensive care units, specialized solid-organ transplant units, and advanced cardiac and neurosurgery facilities.
Graduation and certification
Upon successful completion of your physician assistant program, your college or university will award a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in physician assistant studies.
Graduates are eligible to take the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
For the majority of the clinical rotation, your learning schedule will include eight-hour days, five days a week.
Each year, Mayo School of Health Sciences admits approximately 16 students into its Physician Assistant Clinical Rotation at Mayo Clinic in Florida. This ensures you receive a comprehensive educational experience with close one-on-one instruction.
