Teaching faculty

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department draws its faculty from the clinical, scientific and technical staffs of Mayo Clinic. They are chosen for their commitment to teaching as well as to clinical practice and/or research. Many have published and lectured extensively and are highly regarded in their field.

The 86 physical medicine and rehabilitation staff at Mayo Clinic in Arizona include:

  • 49 physical therapists
  • 5 physical therapist assistants
  • 21 occupational therapists
  • 4 certified occupational therapy assistants
  • 5 rehabilitation technicians
  • 2 recreation therapists

More than 35 clinicians have achieved academic rank and 10 are ABPTS-certified clinical specialists. Our staff also has a multitude of various specialty certifications.

You will have access to these individuals throughout your residency — with the opportunity to learn directly from some of today’s best physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists.

Visiting professors/lecturers

A hallmark of higher education excellence is the breadth and depth of information and experience provided to students by the faculty and visiting experts. Many prominent professors visit Mayo Clinic to lecture on their areas of medical and scientific expertise each year.

As a student of Mayo School of Health Sciences, you are encouraged to attend all conferences, lectures and seminars prepared for students, residents, fellows and consulting staff.
