Frequently asked questions for the Phlebotomy Technician Program
Q: Do I complete the Lite or Regular Application?
A: Regular.
Q: How many applicants usually apply for each class?
A: On average, there are about 20 applicants for each class.
Q: How much is the tuition for this program?
A: Currently, it is $1208 for the 10-week program.
Q: Who can I have write me a recommendation?
A: Anyone who knows you, except a relative. This could include co-workers, teachers, family friends, supervisors, etc.
Q: How do I get my transcripts to Mayo Clinic?
A: Transcripts must be "Official." This means that they are to be stamped and/or signed by the appropriate person from the school and in a sealed envelope. It usually works best to have the school send your transcripts directly to us.
Q: How will I know if I have sent in all of the necessary documents?
A: A staff person will be contacting you via email and letting you know what is needed to complete your application.
Q: How much time do I have to get my paperwork sent in?
A: There isn't a set amount of time. We will keep you updated on the progress of your application but it is best to get your documents in as soon as possible.
Q: What happens after my application is completed and all my documents are received by the program?
A: You will be contacted via email that your application is complete and will proceed to the next step of the application process.
Q: What is the next step of the application process?
A: After your application is complete, including all of the necessary documents, it is sent on to a team that reviews it and then makes the decision on whether or not to interview an applicant. You will be contacted either way as to whether or not you will receive an interview.
Q: Do I need to have all of my transcripts, letters of recommendation turned in by the last day of the online application window?
A: No, the transcripts, etc. may follow shortly afterwards.
