Prerequisites

To be eligible to apply for the Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program, you must:

  • Have proof of a high school diploma or GED
  • Successfully pass a national background check

Applicants are selected based on previous employment, volunteering and customer service experiences, leadership qualities, and representation of personal qualities and skills in a personal interview.

International applicants

U.S. citizenship or permanent immigrant status is required for admission to the Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program.

Technical standards

All students in the Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program must be able to perform the essential functions of the profession and meet the standards of the curriculum. Students seeking exceptions to these standards or reasonable accommodations should initiate a request with the program's director.
