Director's Welcome
Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the challenging and rewarding profession of Pediatric Pharmacy. Because of the diverse patient population (0-18 year-olds with numerous possible disease states), pharmacotherapy must be individualized for each patient. Due to this dynamic and pediatric patients' limited reserve to handle medications, the role of the pediatric pharmacist is critical to achieving desired therapeutic outcomes.
Mayo Clinic's primary value is "the needs of the patient come first," and it has been a leading institution in promoting multidisciplinary teamwork. These basic philosophies are the backbone of our practice and create wonderful working relationships with other health care professionals.
With its strong commitment to patient care, education, and research, Mayo Clinic has proudly developed a very comprehensive Children's Hospital Pharmacy Practice Residency. Our highly qualified pediatric pharmacists will help you build a strong working knowledge base and pharmaceutical care skill set. The residency program is designed to allow you to tailor the curriculum to meet your needs, build upon your strengths, and improve your weaknesses.
We are fortunate to attract outstanding resident candidates. Those who have completed our program are enjoying successful careers. We are excited for you to join our team that is passionate about patient care, teaching, and research. Rest assured that the efforts devoted to enhancing your skills during this residency program will serve you well in future endeavors.
Best regards,
Bernard Lee, Program Director
