Application Process

Clinical Positions
Each year, Mayo School of Health Sciences accepts up to 20 students in its Nurse Practitioner Clinical Residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester on a competitive basis.

The program begins in August depending on enrollment.

Application Cycle
Submit application and all supporting documentation between January 1 and March 1 of the year you wish to begin classes. Classes begin in August of each year. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited for a personal interview.

How to Apply
Appointment to the Nurse Practitioner Clinical Residency is made through your nursing program advisor at the college or university you are attending.

Step 1: Discuss participation in the residency with you nursing program advisor.

Step 2: Complete the online Application for Admission

After you create an account and/or log-in, please select Application for Admission. Upload your goal statement into the online application. The suggested essay questions do not need to be answered.

Step 3: Please submit the following required documents:

  • Official transcript of Masters and Bachelors credits.
  • Three letters of professional and academic recommendation (if not submitted electronically).
