Application Process

Clinical Positions

Each year, Mayo School of Health Sciences accepts one or two students in its Nurse-Midwifery Clinical Rotations Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester on a competitive basis.

Application Cycle

Submit application and all supporting documentation as soon as possible, but at least six months prior to your desired timeframe of the year you wish to begin classes. Clinical rotations might include a September or January start, if on the traditional college semester tracks; although other times are accommodated for the nontraditional track student. Applicants considered for an appointment may be invited for a personal interview or phone call. In the occurrence of several applicants, a panel interview may also be included.

How to Apply

Once you and your college have identified Mayo as an appropriate site for your clinicals, you may apply online to the Nurse-Midwifery Clinical Rotations Program. In most instances, appointment is made within 1-2 months of your application.

Step 1

Discuss participation in the clinicals with your nursing program advisor.

Step 2

Complete the online lite application.

After you create an account and/or log-in, please select the lite application for admission. Upload your goal statement into the online application.

Step 3

Please submit the following required documents:

  • Official transcript of Masters, Doctorate and/or Bachelors credits.
  • Three letters of professional and academic recommendation (if not submitted electronically).

Step 4

You will be notified when your appointment has been accepted, within 1-2 months after applying.
