The Massage Therapy Clinical Experience at Mayo School of Health Sciences in Minnesota exposes students to the health care environment. During this program, learning experiences enable students to:
- Complete required massage student clinical rotation hours
- Provide chair massage to staff in a variety of hospital and clinic settings
- Observe the hospital-based massage therapy practice
Didactic course work
There is no course work during this program. Students are expected to have completed general massage therapy course work through their school of massage therapy and should be at the final stages of this course work.
During the program, students will rotate through a variety of clinical areas to provide chair massage to staff and have the opportunity to shadow current hospital-based massage therapists.

This allows faculty and administrative staff to direct students who are experiencing academic difficulty to the appropriate support resources, including tutoring programs and counseling opportunities.
