Tuition and Financial Aid

Program costs

The current MSHS tuition rates for the 2012-2013 academic cycle are $378 per credit, and the total cost of tuition for the 43 credit Medical Laboratory Science Program is $16,254. A $250 deposit is required upon acceptance (this is applied to tuition). Tuition will be billed twice a year. $8,127 will be billed at the beginning of the academic program and $8,127 will be billed midway through the program. A 4% increase in tuition is anticipated for the 2013-2014 academic cycle. Tuition rates are subject to change on an annual basis for the MLS Program, at the discretion of program and MSHS leadership. Students are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks (~$800) and will be supplied with a Mayo-issued laptop for studies. Additionally, a technology fee of $175/semester will be charged.

Students are responsible for providing their own living accommodations. Students may hold outside employment during the program if it does not conflict with their program responsibilities.

Financial aid

Mayo School of Health Sciences offers financial incentives for students to participate in many of its health sciences training programs. Scholarships, grants and low-interest loans may be available for those who demonstrate financial need.

The College of Medicine Student Financial Aid Office can provide more details about the financial aid or incentives offered for the Medical Laboratory Science Program.
