Florida State College develops and facilitates the curriculum and didactic instruction for its Histologic Technology program.


During the Histology Technician Clinical Rotation at Mayo Clinic, your rotation experiences include:

  • Cytology processing
  • Frozen section laboratory
  • Routine histology
  • Special stains
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • Immunofluorescence
  • Molecular pathology
  • Digital pathology
  • Electron microscopy
  • Mohs surgery

Grading or evaluation

Mayo School of Health Sciences uses these evaluative tools:

  • Assessment of cognitive knowledge
  • Assessment of technical skills
  • Assessment of affective behavior

Mayo's system of evaluation provides students and faculty with a comprehensive look at individual performance. This allows faculty and administrative staff to direct students who are experiencing academic difficulty to the appropriate support resources, including tutoring programs and counseling opportunities.

Students also receive an evaluation through Florida State College.
