Health Information Internship (Arizona)
Students enrolled in a Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM)-accredited health information technology (HIT) program at an affiliated college or university have the option to complete their clinical rotation at Mayo Clinic's campus in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona.
Mayo School of Health Sciences coordinates the clinical training experience for students from affiliated schools. The length of the program is flexible and depends on the affiliated institution's requirements.

The Mayo Clinic campus in Scottsdale is centered around a beautiful, five-story outpatient clinic. This modern facility contains extensive exam rooms, an outpatient surgery center equipped for general anesthesia, a full-service laboratory, pharmacy, patient education library, endoscopy suite, and a 188-seat auditorium for patient, staff and student education programs. Services in numerous medical and surgical disciplines are provided, including outstanding programs in cancer treatment and organ transplantation.
Graduation and certification
Program graduates are eligible to take the national examination to become either a registered health information technician (associate degree) or a registered health information administrator (bachelor's degree).

Each year, the Health Information Internship admits a limited number of students to complete a clinical rotation at Mayo Clinic's campus in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona. This ensures you receive close instruction and a comprehensive educational experience.
