Curriculum

The majority of the internship will be spent observing and working in the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department. The intern will also observe various diagnostic settings such as:

  • Heart catherization laboratory
  • Electrophysiology laboratory
  • Echocardiogram laboratory
  • Exercise stress test laboratory
  • Cardiopulmonary function laboratory
  • Outpatient Physical Therapy Department

The intern will attend weekly team conferences, staff meetings and scheduled citywide cardiopulmonary rehabilitation meetings.

Grading or Evaluation
The exercise specialist preceptor will evaluate students at the midpoint and again at the end of the internship. The intern will be evaluated based on skills, knowledge and behaviors required within program objectives. Evaluation forms will be sent to the participating college or university. At the end of the program, the intern will evaluate the internship experience.
