Application Process

Positions

Six interns are accepted each year for the Dietetics Internship Program at Mayo Clinic in Florida on a competitive basis. The eight-month Dietetics Internship begins in January and July.

The program is using the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Services (DICAS). DICAS will be available after July 11, 2012 for the Fall 2012 match. The online application must be completed for this program by 11:59 p.m. CST on September 25, 2012. The fee to use DICAS is $40 for the first application submitted and $20 for each additional application. If you have questions, please email DICASinfo@DICAS.org.

A nonrefundable $25 application fee (payable to Mayo Clinic with applicant's name and DICAS number) must be sent to:

When completing the application form, applicants must include the name and contact information (specifically an email address) for each reference. This will trigger an email message requesting completion of a reference form. The form will be completed online. Students submitting more than one application will need to use the same individuals as references for each application.

Applicants who apply to internships using DICAS will be asked to complete a personal statement. Questions to be addressed in the personal statement include:

  • Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
  • Discuss experiences that have helped to prepare you for your career,
  • What are your short-term and long-term goals?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses or areas needing improvement?
  • 1000 Word limit

Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended should be sent postmarked by the September 25, 2012 deadline to:

Applicants must also register online for computer matching at www.dnddigital.com and select dietetic internship priority choices by 11:59 p.m. Central Time September 25, 2012. There is a $50.00 computer matching fee.

November Match

  • Deadline: Registration materials are due in September. Please see the D & D Digital Systems Web site for exact date.
  • The November match is for internships beginning in January.
  • Three interns are accepted.

April Match

  • Deadline: Registration materials are due in February. Please see the D & D Digital Systems Web site for exact date.
  • The April match is for internships beginning in July.
  • Three interns are accepted.

Candidates selected must contact the program director in writing via email or fax within 24 hours of the notification day.
