According to the American Association of Pathologists' Assistants (AAPA), "A pathologists' assistant is an intensively trained allied health professional who provides anatomic pathology services under the supervision of a pathologist (M.D. with board certification in Anatomic Pathology)." They perform a variety of tasks such as examining and processing and dissecting tissues.
