Research Training
The first year of the fellowship is devoted to didactic course work in statistical methods, clinical epidemiology, protocol development, scientific writing, critical appraisal of medical literature and leadership skills. You can choose to complete a Certificate in Clinical Research (12 didactic credits and completion of a research project) or a Masters in Clinical Research (24 didactic credits, a comprehensive written exam, and completion and defense of a research thesis).
Following this didactic training, you will participate in the design and conduct of a clinical research project. Funding is available to cover research costs. You will be expected to present your research at a national meeting and publish results of the project.

Evaluation
To ensure that you acquire adequate knowledge and develop your technical skills, your performance will be monitored carefully during the course of your program training. You will be evaluated formally by your supervising faculty member after each clinical rotation and will meet with the program director to review these evaluations.
