Program Description
The Transitional Year Residency Program at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville is designed to introduce you to a wide range of medical and surgical specialties through elective rotations and self-planned learning activities.
The goal is that during this year's experiences, you will build a broad foundation of clinical skills as a base for your future training.
The program offers a solid foundation in the fundamental skills of clinical medicine so you will emerge prepared to enter the categorical residency program of your choice.
Program & Graduate Outcomes
After completing the Transitional Year Residency Program, our graduates have gone on to excel in categorical residency programs at several major academic centers, including Mayo Clinic.
Program History
The Transitional Year Residency Program at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville was established in 1993. Approximately 76 residents have completed training in this program. It is anticipated that going forward, eight trainees will complete this program annually.
