Qualifications
Selection of fellows is competitively based on academic and clinical background, academic success, letters of recommendations, and post-program professional goals compatible with those of this fellowship program. The highest ranked applicants are generally invited for an interview, which also becomes part of the selection process. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Ph.D. or related doctoral degree in speech-language pathology
  • All requirements for the doctoral degree must be met
  • Preferably, hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). If the applicant does not hold a CCC, they must obtain it during the first year of the fellowship program.
  • Good English language and speech abilities (because this fellowship emphasizes patient care and communication with patients is crucial to the standard of care and because the majority of patients have English as a primary language).
