Mayo Clinic radiologists and staff provide the highest quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services in a caring and efficient manner, while sustaining outstanding programs in research and education.

The Department of Diagnostic Radiology is fully integrated with all the medical services available at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. More than 30 radiologists and physicists cooperate with hundreds of support staff to provide diagnostic and therapeutic radiology services to patients.

Experts in all areas of radiology consult with specialists in other departments to "provide the best care to every patient every day." Radiologists work with state-of-the-art equipment, assisted by skilled technologists and nurses, to perform and interpret more than 260,000 examinations yearly. This large number of cases, integrated with on-going research and education, results in wide-ranging expertise in the imaging and treatment of diseases affecting patients of all ages.

The department has exceptional diagnostic resources. Available state-of-the art equipment includes system-wide PACS, electronic medical record, Siemens 1.5T Open Bore MR, Siemens 2.0T Open Bore MR, four Siemens 1.5T MR, IMRI 1.5T Interventional MRI, Siemens Dual Energy CT, two Siemens 64 Slice Ct, Siemens 16 Slice CT, Siemens Biograph PET/CT, and fourteen Ultrasound units.

In addition to caring for patients in their clinical practices, Mayo Clinic's faculty members are committed to teaching and facilitating the growth of medical knowledge. Many of our faculty have published and lectured extensively and are recognized leaders in their field. You will have direct access to these individuals throughout your training program.
