Radiation Oncology Residency (Minnesota)
The four-year Radiation Oncology Residency Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester offers individualized training that prepares you for a career in private practice or academic medicine. The residency is divided into two parts: an initial year of graduate medical education followed by four years of radiation oncology residency training.
The program provides structured training and progress assessment in all aspects of radiation oncology. Highlights of the program include:
- Intensive training in a large, state-of-the-art radiation oncology center
- Curriculum providing comprehensive hands-on and evaluated experiences
Progressive responsibility ensures that you become a fully independent radiation oncologist by the time you complete the program.
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredits the Radiation Oncology Residency Program at Mayo Clinic.
You will be eligible to take the board certification examination offered by the American Board of Radiology upon completion of the residency.
The Radiation Oncology Residency began in January 1978, and since that time more than 57 residents have completed training. I t is anticipated that two residents will complete training in this program annually.
