The fellowship has nine slots, each with a two-year duration. Therefore, either three or four positions are available each year on a competitive basis in the Medical Psychology Fellowship (at least one or two depending on the recruitment year) in each specialty area: Clinical Child Psychology, Clinical Health Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology.
Contact the program for information about how many positions are available in your chosen specialty program.
How to apply
You must apply through the APPA CAS application.
Applications for the 2016-2017 academic year should be completed by:
- Dec. 14 for Clinical Neuropsychology
- Dec. 19 for Clinical Health Psychology
- Jan. 5 for Clinical Child Psychology
While the academic year begins July 1, the start date is flexible depending on the individual circumstances for each postdoctoral fellow.
To apply to the program, visit the APPA CAS application website. All applications to Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.
In addition, this program requires a letter of recommendation from your graduate school training director. Ask your training director to document that you are in good standing and will complete the training program before you start our fellowship. Also, you may ask others more familiar with your skills and qualifications to send letters of recommendation. Four letters are sufficient. These should be submitted with your online application.
If you are considered for a position, you are asked to visit Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota, for an interview with the program director, the director for your specialty, selected faculty and current postdocs in the program. Interviews are conducted in January and February.
The Clinical Child and Clinical Health Psychology programs subscribe to the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers Postdoctoral Uniform Notification Date with Option for Reciprocal Offer. The Clinical Neuropsychology program participates in the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology Match.
