It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to our Surgical Pathology Fellowship website. Our program is new, and we are all excited to have the opportunity to share our great cases with a fellow next year.
We have a wonderful team of experienced surgical pathologists with various subspecialty backgrounds, more than 29,000 annual surgical pathology accessions, a variety of frozen section cases and more than 2,000 outside consultation cases. We feel we could provide a fellow an outstanding year for additional training in surgical pathology.
I have been at Mayo Clinic in Florida for six years and have appreciated the teamwork not only in our department but also throughout the institution. Our collaboration with Arizona and Minnesota only serves to enhance our experiences. We all strive to incorporate the principles that were started by the Mayo brothers.
In addition to the various subspecialty areas that we can offer a fellow, we also have opportunities for a fellow to teach residents, not only in pathology, but also in other specialties. We offer many weekly and monthly conferences in which the fellow will play an integral role.
Several of our surgical pathologists are involved in research activities, and the fellow can participate in these as well.
