Application Process

Positions

There are two program tracks available on a competitive basis:

  • Neuropathology Fellowship (one fellowship position every other year), with the next available position beginning in July 2014 for candidates interested in this track
  • Combined Anatomic Pathology Residency and Neuropathology Fellowship (one position every year)

How to apply: Neuropathology Fellowship

You must apply through ApplyYourself, a third-party application service. No matching program services are used.

The application form and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Jan. 1, which is 18 months prior to the start of the academic year in July. Positions are offered beginning March 1 of the previous year.

  1. To apply to the program, visit the ApplyYourself website. All applications to Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials. In addition, this program requires a letter of recommendation from your residency program director be submitted with your online application.
  2. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty.

How to apply: Combined Anatomic Pathology Residency and Neuropathology Fellowship

You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). This can be done through your medical school dean's office. International medical graduates should contact the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for information on how to apply using ERAS.

The application form and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Nov. 1 for positions beginning the following year.

  1. To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website. All applications to Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.
  2. All appointments are made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Candidates must register through the NRMP website.
  3. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted October through January each year.
