Neurohospitalist Fellowship (Florida)

Program Description

The Neurohospitalist Fellowship program at Mayo Clinic Florida is designed to provide the clinical and procedural skills necessary for efficient delivery of high quality care to patients with acute neurologic illness and acute neurologic complications of inpatient general medical and surgical conditions.

At the conclusion of the fellowship, the trainee will be well-prepared to provide timely and evidence-based therapies for a wide-spectrum of neurological disease processes in an academic or community setting. The trainee will be prepared to lead quality-improvement initiatives, outcomes-based research projects, and direct efforts for achievement of institutional accreditation for primary stroke center certification by Joint Commission.

Program History
The Neurohospitalist Fellowship was established at Mayo Clinic Florida in 2010. Going forward, it is anticipated that one fellow will complete this program annually.
