Up to three applicants are accepted annually on a competitive basis.
How to apply
- Determine eligibility
Contact Cori L. Chvosta at 507-266-9092 or Nicole P. Sandhu, M.D., Ph.D., at 507-538-7946 to determine if you are eligible to apply before submitting application materials
- Review application materials
Review the MSGME required application materials.
- Complete the application
Once eligibility to apply has been determined, complete the online application for the General Internal Medicine Fellowship, specifying to which training track you wish to apply. Applicants must use ApplyYourself, a third party application service. MSGME does not process printed applications to this program. No matching program services are used.
- Submit supporting materials
Submit the MSGME required application materials and a letter of recommendation from your residency program director or your department chair to:

Candidates considered for an appointment will be invited to Mayo Clinic for an interview with the program director and selected faculty.
Deadlines
While it is preferable that applications are received early in the academic year prior to the July program start date, the General Internal Medicine Fellowship considers inquiries and applications on a rolling basis. However, early inquiries are strongly encouraged to determine eligibility for the program.
