Four positions are available in the Endocrinology Fellowship each year on a competitive basis and include positions in both the Clinical Scholar Track and Research Career Track.
How to apply
You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The application form and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Aug. 1 of the year preceding the appointment date. The academic year begins July 1.
- To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website. All applications to Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials. This fellowship requires that one of your three letters of recommendation be from your internal medicine program director.
- All appointments are made through the Medical Specialties Matching Program sponsored by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Specialties Matching Service. All candidates must register through the Specialties Matching Service.
If you are considered for an appointment, you will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for interviews by three faculty members on select dates during September. Upon arrival, candidates are hosted by the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, & Nutrition.
The interview day emphasizes time meeting with current fellows by shadowing a fellow and faculty member on a typical rotation in the clinic or hospital, attending a fellows' conference, and having lunch with all the fellows. Candidates then visit the Endocrine Research Unit, where they are welcome to request meetings with selected faculty or potential research mentors.
