Eight to nine positions are available annually in the Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., on a competitive basis.
How to apply
You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). This can be done through your medical school dean's office. International medical graduates should contact the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for information on how to apply using ERAS.
The application form and all supporting documentation must be submitted by Aug. 15, approximately 11 months before the academic year begins in July.
- To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website. All applications to Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials. Note that this fellowship requires one of your three letters of recommendation (which are in addition to the dean's letter) to be from your internal medicine program director.
- Appointments are made through the Medical Specialties Matching Program, which is sponsored by the National Resident Matching Program Specialties Matching Service. All candidates must register through the Specialties Matching Service.
- If you are considered for an appointment, you will be asked to visit Mayo Clinic for an interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted between October and November of each year prior to the match date.
