Application Process


There is one position available each year in the Palliative Medicine Fellowship on a competitive basis.

How to apply

You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

The application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by September 1 of the year preceding the appointment date. The academic year begins in July.

To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website. All applications to Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials. The dean's letter can be uploaded in ERAS as the MSPE and does not need to be sent directly to the program coordinator.

In addition to what is listed on the application materials website, this fellowship also requires:

  • A letter from your program director, which can be uploaded in ERAS as the fourth letter of recommendation
  • USMLE or COMLEX scores, which also can be uploaded in ERAS

Applicants considered for an appointment are invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted between January and August each year.
