Department and Faculty
The Department of Family Medicine provides comprehensive medical evaluations and primary care for patients of all ages in the Jacksonville, Fla., area. We have 18 full-time staff physicians who provide quality and compassionate care for more than 72,000 patient visits a year.
In addition to caring for patients in their clinical practices, each of our faculty members is committed to teaching and facilitating the growth of medical knowledge.
Many of our faculty have published and lectured extensively and are recognized leaders in their field. Each one regularly participates in our Core Curriculum Seminar. You will have direct access to all of them as they precept and guide you throughout your training program.
Advisers and mentors
Our adviser program is designed to provide you with comprehensive educational advice and personal support. You will be assigned to a faculty member who will serve as a contact person, introducing you and your family to Jacksonville and the Mayo Clinic system.
The Mayo Clinic campus in Florida includes a state-of-the-art hospital, which opened in 2008 and has 214 beds, two comprehensive outpatient medical complexes, two active research facilities, full-service laboratories and radiology, and an on-site pharmacy.
More than 310 staff physicians at Mayo Clinic in Florida represent more than 50 clinical specialties. The campus has more than 400,000 patient visits a year.
