The diversity of pathology is much more extensive than one would think in small town Minnesota. There are always interesting cases walking in the door. The ED faculty is eager to teach and a pleasure to work with. The off service rotations also provide exposure to some of the top consultants in their respective fields. It's always good to learn from the best.

Why Mayo?:
Mayo has a fantastic medical environment with a focus on resident education and staff that is fun to work with. Opportunities at Mayo range from the best simulation in the country, multiple central line/ultrasound/suture/airway/animal/cadaver workshops, flight medicine, and a strong study abroad program. If you can dream it Mayo can make it happen. The ED is very busy with a good mix between very sick patients and trauma. Rochester is a great small city with much to offer including many beautiful parks, great food, live performances, easy access to great fly fishing, cycling, and outdoor activities.
