Emergency Medicine Residency program

The primary goal of the Mayo Clinic Emergency Medicine Residency Program is to provide you with the training, resources and experience to become a superior emergency medicine physician. We aim to train leaders in Emergency Medicine who will provide the highest-quality care and advance the specialty.

Regardless of whether you pursue an academic, community or rural setting in which to practice, you will have the skills required to make a positive impact and be successful.

Accreditation
The Emergency Medicine Residency Program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Program History
The Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester was approved in 1999. Since that time, 58 residents have completed training in the program. In 2006, the residency began matching 8 residents yearly.
