Advanced Clinical Dermatology Fellowship (Minnesota)
Program Description
Mayo Clinic in Rochester offers an Advanced Clinical Dermatology Fellowship Program that provides you with direct contact with patients and the option for performing research or engaging in academic pursuits.
The program combines clinical rotations with opportunities for clinical, epidemiologic and bench research. The program focuses on strong clinical training and hands-on clinical investigation. You will learn scientific methods and clinical research design. Areas of training will include clinical diagnosis and management, clinical trials, clinical research design and an independent research project.
The fellowship can be tailored to your area of interest within clinical dermatology. Areas for advanced training and study include:
- Psoriasis and phototherapy
- Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma
- Contact/occupational dermatitis and cutaneous allergy
- Clinical studies
- Oral medicine and oral dermatology
- Pediatric dermatology
Evaluation
To ensure you gain proficiency and develop the corresponding technical skills, your performance is monitored throughout this program. You are formally evaluated by your supervising faculty member following the completion of each clinical rotation; and then meet with the program director to review these evaluations. In addition, you regularly evaluate the faculty to ensure your educational goals are being met.
