Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship (Minnesota)
The one-year Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota, offers a robust experience with children of all ages and all levels of acuity. The fellowship is structured to maximize learning and optimize the clinical experience of our trainees.
The role of the pediatric fellow is to acquire experience and gain proficiency with a wide variety of pediatric anesthetic techniques and pediatric surgical cases. Accordingly, this goal is the primary consideration in directing the day-to-day work assignments.
Our curriculum emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to education and includes contributions from recognized experts in pediatric pain medicine, critical care, psychology, transfusion medicine and regional anesthesia. Fellows are involved in simulation training throughout the year, both as participants and as leaders.
The Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
Fellows completing the program will be eligible for subspecialty certification in pediatric anesthesiology from the American Board of Anesthesiology.
The Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship was accredited in 2004 and accepts two fellows each year.
