There are four positions available in the Pain Medicine Fellowship each year on a competitive basis.
How to apply
You must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
Each year, applications are accepted from Dec. 1 through May 31 for the subsequent fellowship year. The academic year begins July 1.
To apply to the program, visit the ERAS website. All applications to Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education programs must include these application materials.
In addition, this fellowship would like to have the following materials included in your online application, but they are not required:
- Copies of all In-Training Examination scores (to date)
- Copy of Self-Assessment Examination (SAE) summary for physical medicine and rehabilitation applicants
- The Pain Medicine Fellowship participates in the match program sponsored through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). The timeline for the upcoming appointment year is available on the NRMP's Anesthesiology Match page. Candidates must register through the NRMP website.
- Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interview sessions take place from July through September.
