diagnostic and interventional imaging services in a caring and efficient
manner, while sustaining outstanding programs in research and education.
This department is fully integrated with all the medical services
available throughout Mayo Clinic, in order to "provide the
best care to every patient every day." More than 30 radiologists
work with state-of-the-art equipment, assisted by skilled technologists
and nurses, to perform and interpret a large volume of cross-sectional
studies. Total examination volume this past year included:
- 35,000 body CT scans
- 1,400 non-vascular body MR scans
- 22,000 ultrasound examinations
This large number of cases, integrated with on-going research and
education, results in wide-ranging expertise in the imaging and
treatment of disease.
The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville
has exceptional diagnostic resources. State-of-the art equipment
