Program Description
The one-year Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship Program at Mayo
Clinic in Rochester, Minn., provides superb subspecialty radiology
training, while you work closely with experts in the imaging and
interventional aspects of musculoskeletal radiology. The program
delivers a detailed learning experience that enables fellows to
become highly proficient at musculoskeletal imaging.
This program teaches radiologists how to protocol, perform and
interpret studies and procedures at a subspecialty level, preparing
them to bring musculoskeletal imaging expertise to either an academic
or specialty private practice.
The fellowship includes experience in musculoskeletal radiographs,
CT, MRI and ultrasound. Intervention musculoskeletal experience
includes peripheral joint procedures (e.g. injection, aspiration
and arthrography) and spine intervention (e.g. epidural steroid
injection, facet injection and discography).
Program History
The Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship in Rochester began
in 1992, and, since that time, more than 20 physicians have completed
training. It is anticipated that two to four fellows will complete
training in this program annually.
