Clinical Research Training Program

Dr. Robert Voigt, M.D.The goal of our Pediatric Residency is to train a cadre of world-class pediatricians who will go on to become leaders in their chosen areas of interest. After completing our program, you will be qualified and prepared to provide the highest-quality medical care to pediatric patients and/or to pursue an academic career in medical investigation and education.

Mayo Clinic in Rochester has been providing inpatient and outpatient care for infants, children and adolescents of all social and economic backgrounds since 1916. More than 100 pediatric and adolescent physician specialists in more than 40 specialty areas provide world-class care, ranging from routine checkups to the most complex surgical procedures.

As a major tertiary referral center, we see children from the Rochester area, the Midwest, and around the world who have complex medical problems. Mayo is also a medical education center, and the pediatricians of tomorrow -- medical students, residents and fellows -- play an important role in caring for children at Mayo Eugenio Litta Children’s Hospital.

Mayo’s team uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide comprehensive health care in a patient- and family-oriented environment. Our patients have access to the latest medical treatments and technology, along with groundbreaking clinical trials. Our residency program provides intellectual stimulation and a dynamic, collaborative environment.

You’ll be trained to be a superb clinician, an advocate for children, and a lifelong learner -- and you’ll have fun along the journey.

We encourage you to examine this site and learn more about our program. We welcome any questions you might have. If there’s any way we can assist you in your search for a Pediatric Residency Program, please contact us. Our goal is to ensure your Pediatric Residency training will be one of the best experiences of your life.

Robert (Bob) Voigt, M.D.
