The Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester is a highly
integrated, collaborative department of adult and pediatric neurologists
who specialize in the research, diagnosis and treatment of more
than 500 conditions and diseases affecting the nervous system.
Mayo Clinic is a world leader in developing innovative ways to
diagnose and treat epilepsy in children and adults. A multidisciplinary
team of experts works together to find the most appropriate treatment
for each patient. An integrated approach is essential to achieve
the optimal outcome for the patient. Each year, Mayo Clinic provides
individualized care for more than 3,500 patients with epilepsy at
its three Mayo Clinic locations.
The Pediatric Epilepsy Fellowship Program faculty is comprised
of Mayo Clinic specialists, who are committed to patient care, education
and research in their daily practices. Many of our faculty have
published and lectured extensively and are well regarded in their
field. You will have direct access to these individuals throughout
your training.
The goal of Mayo Clinic's multispecialty team of pediatric experts
is to find the most appropriate treatment for the child with epilepsy.
Careful diagnosis and management can help children with epilepsy
lead fulfilling and productive lives. At Mayo Clinic in Rochester
, more than 200 children are admitted each year for inpatient, pediatric
video EEG monitoring.
Close collaboration with specialists in pediatric and adolescent
medicine, speech pathology, neurosurgery, psychiatry and psychology,
pain management, sleep disorders, and physical medicine and rehabilitation
offer Mayo Clinic patients comprehensive care based on the traditional
Mayo Clinic Model of Care.

The program director will provide you with comprehensive educational
advice and personal support throughout your training program. Your
advisor will also serve as a contact point, introducing you and
your family to the Mayo Clinic system.
Visiting Professors
Many prominent professors visit Mayo Clinic each year. They present
their work at noon and/or morning lectures and participate in hospital
rounds. You are encouraged to take full advantage of these opportunities.
