Program Description
The one-year Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Florida is an exciting and dynamic training program involving the treatment of complex foot and ankle problems in adults. There is exposure to acute and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle as well as to a broad spectrum of patients with non-surgical problems.
Patient cases treated during your fellowship will range from primary (STAR and Agility) and revision ankle replacements to elaborate nonunion of ankle fusions to bunion, toenail and neuroma surgery.
You will participate in all aspects of foot and ankle care via a private clinic environment, detailed physical therapy involvement, orthotic care and extensive operating room exposure. In fact, the foot and ankle service is the busiest operative service at Mayo Clinic in Florida.
Program History
The Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship began in 1999, and since that time, more than five physicians have completed training. It is anticipated that one fellow will complete training in this program annually.
