Mayo Clinic in Florida provides services for the full spectrum of foot and ankle disorders, which include: congenital and adult acquired deformities, acute trauma and secondary complications, the diabetic foot, stress and injury among high-performance athletes, neuromuscular conditions, the rheumatologic foot, and occupational injuries and conditions.
Last year, Mayo Clinic in Florida treated approximately 4,000 patients for foot and ankle disorders, which included more than 400 surgical procedures. The procedures involved a multitude of common forefoot conditions including hammertoes, bunions and neuromas, as well as severe complicated foot and ankle deformities.
One of the unique components of the center is surgical management for arthritic conditions of the foot and ankle, including osteotomies around the ankle and total ankle replacement. Mayo Clinic in Florida has subsequently become a major center for management of ankle arthritis in various stages.
Mayo Clinic’s state-of-the-art electronic record system, which an independent review has deemed “second to none,” and digital X-rays streamline the work process enabling you to treat more patients in the same length of time.
Our orthopedic surgeons use an integrated, team approach to deal with challenging foot deformities resulting from previous fractures, overuse, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and other arthritic conditions. A full-time physician assistant and clinical assistant handle all patient orders, post-operative notes and scheduling. This allows you to focus on the treatment aspect of the orthopedic practice. However, frequent visits are made to the surgical recorders in order to educate you on the proper coding of orthopedic procedures.
