How to Apply
MSGME does not process printed applications to this program. To apply, you need to use the third-party application service, Apply Yourself.

In addition to the standard application materials required by MSGME, this program requires the following additional supporting materials to be submitted with your online application:

  • A letter from your residency program director or the department chair

Applications for each academic year should be completed by September, approximately 10 months in advance of the program start date. The academic year begins in early July.

If you are considered for an appointment, you will be asked to visit Mayo Clinic for an interview with the program director and selected faculty. Interviews are conducted approximately six months in advance of the appointment. During the interview, the applicant will have an opportunity to meet residents and postgraduate fellows as well as the consultants of the retina and vitreous service, selected members of the departmental Education Committee and other staff members who are intimately involved in the training of the postgraduate fellow.
