Program Description
The Mayo Clinic Nephrology Fellowship Program provides outstanding nephrology training in all aspects of clinical practice, research and education. Opportunities in these three areas enable the curriculum to be individually designed to meet the specific goals of future investigative or clinical nephrologists.
Your training program can be customized to meet your individual career goals. The program offers flexibility for you within the clinical and research tracks. You will work closely with a highly experienced and knowledgeable clinical and research faculty. Advanced training tracks in critical care medicine, hypertension and transplantation are available and, if offered, lead to certification.

Accreditation
The training program fulfills the requirements for subspecialty training nephrology as stated by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Graduate Medical Education.
Certification
You will be eligible to take the American Board of Internal Medicine subspecialty examination in nephrology upon successful completion of the fellowship.
Program History
The Nephrology Fellowship Program began in 1983, and since that time, more than 130 physicians have completed training. It is anticipated that four fellows will complete training in this program annually.
