Program Description
The Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship is a one- or two-year program. Based in Mayo Clinic's Molecular Genetics Laboratory,
it provides experience in DNA testing for inherited diseases and
oncology/hematology. Optional training in other clinical laboratories
that utilize molecular diagnostics will be available to you. Your
allocation of time between clinical applications and research is
also flexible.
For M.D.s who are already board certified in pathology or medical
genetics, this training will provide eligibility to sit for the
examination in molecular genetic pathology offered jointly by the
American Board of Pathology (ABP) and the American Board of Medical
Genetics (ABMG).
