Kieth J. Cannon, M.D.With over a century of history as an institution and twenty years in the Arizona desert, Mayo Clinic is a first-rate choice for internal medicine residency training.  As educators our goal is to provide a comprehensive and state-of-the-art experience in internal medicine and to prepare future internists for a lifetime of caring, learning and inquiry - whether their career path leads them to general internal medicine or to a subspecialty field.  We accomplish this in a collegial environment that acknowledges the challenges of balancing professional pursuits with a healthy personal life.

Mayo Clinic Arizona is a unique academic medical center that attracts a diverse and accomplished group of physicians.  We benefit from the strength and traditions of Mayo pioneers while enjoying the growth and innovation of the Southwest.  We count on the resources of a large and well-established research and education enterprise while working together in an intimate setting.  Although we enjoy the benefits of one of the largest cities in the U.S., our workplace is situated in pleasant suburbs.  Because Mayo Clinic draws patients from a national and international community, we see varied and fascinating pathology, while at the same time dealing regularly with more common prevention and illness.

Mayo Clinic Hospital and the outpatient practices are all part of the same not-for-profit organization.  This allows our staff, residents and fellows to work in collaboration across disciplines.  As we seek to advance the science of medicine, we focus on our primary value "the needs of the patient come first."  I welcome you to learn more about our residents and our program.
