Program Description
The GI Motility Fellowship Program at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is designed to offer you advanced training in the science and practice of gastrointestinal motility. It is intended for physicians planning a career in internal medicine and/or gastroenterology in an academic setting and who have a major subspecialty interest in gastroenterology with a focus on motility disorders of the digestive tract.

This one-year fellowship provides hands-on experience in the conduct of a range of motility tests, from the esophagus to the anorectum. A special feature in the program is the application of novel imaging methods in the diagnosis of motility disorders.

Program History
The GI Motility Fellowship began in 1995. One position is available each year on a competitive basis. Ten physicians who have completed this training program and it is anticipated that this fellowship will be filled yearly.
