Program Description
The Gastroenterology & Hepatology (GIH) Neoplasia Fellowship Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester provides a unique environment for exceptional candidates to pursue advanced training in tumors affecting the gastrointestinal tract and liver.
You will become highly skilled in the management of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic cancers, and gain extensive experience with the clinical and research tools needed for a successful academic career in this field.
Clinical and research opportunities are readily available with respect to all major gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancers, with special emphases on prevention, early detection and endoscopic intervention.
Applicants should be interested in pursuing a career in academic medicine and/or medical research.
The program provides a full-time, 12- to 24-month training experience. In special circumstances, arrangements can be made for other lengths of training depending on your needs and interests.
Program History
The Gastroenterology & Hepatology Neoplasia Fellowship Program began in 2007 and will begin accepting fellows to the program in 2008. It is anticipated that one fellow will complete training in this program annually.
