The Department of Dermatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester offers a full range of dermatologic care for both common and rare problems of skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes.
The department has 24 board-certified physicians with expertise in the areas of medical, surgical and pediatric dermatology.
Mayo Clinic has more than 44,000 dermatology outpatient visits each year, and the inpatient dermatology service at Rochester Methodist Hospital cares for more than 400 patients annually. Some of these patients have unusual or complicated dermatological problems and are referred by their physicians; many are self-referred.
Faculty
In addition to caring for patients in their clinical practices, Mayo Clinic's faculty members are committed to teaching and facilitating the growth of medical knowledge. Many of our faculty have published and lectured extensively and are well regarded in their field. You will have direct access to these individuals throughout your training program.
Advisors
You will be assigned a faculty advisor who can provide comprehensive educational advice and personal support. Your advisor also will serve as a contact point, introducing you and your family to Rochester and the Mayo Clinic system.
Visiting Professors
Many prominent professors visit Mayo Clinic each year. They present their work during noon and/or morning lectures and participate in hospital rounds. You will be encouraged to take full advantage of these opportunities.
