The Department of Dermatology facilities include a large clinic
area with a surgical suite and laser room, a residents' room and
library, an extensive photographic collection and a dermatopathology
room with a multi-headed teaching microscope.
Six full-time dermatologists evaluate and manage patients requiring
medical and surgical care for skin disorders, including cancers.
They offer expertise in dermatopathology and Mohs micrographic surgery
as well as evaluating skin disorders, such as cutaneous lymphomas,
atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, psoriasis, skin cancer and
inflammatory dermatoses.
Faculty
In addition to caring for patients in their clinical practices,
Mayo Clinic's faculty members are committed to teaching and facilitating
the growth of medical knowledge. Many of our faculty have published
and lectured extensively and are well regarded in their field. You
will have direct access to these individuals throughout your training
program.
Visiting Professors
Many prominent professors visit Mayo Clinic each year. They present
their work during noon and/or morning lectures. You will be encouraged
to take full advantage of these opportunities.
