The faculty at Mayo Clinic is highly regarded at the national and
international level in both clinical and research fields. Moreover,
because of the significant emphasis in implementing translational
research, a large number of individuals serve as outstanding mentors
and advisors to trainees. You will have direct access to these individuals
throughout your training.
Many members of Mayo's faculty are actively involved in research
activities. In addition to established research departments, new
programmatic areas that bridge both basic and clinical research
fields in biomedicine have been recently initiated and expanded.
These include such areas as:
- Mayo Clinic Cancer Center
- Xenotransplantation
- Molecular Medicine
- Gene Therapy
