As a Mayo Clinic resident or fellow, you'll have the opportunity
to participate in a broad range of educational experiences designed
to enhance your knowledge and skills as well as promote the development
of your career. These include:
Career Counseling
You will receive the benefits of mentoring with a member of
the Mayo consulting staff throughout your training. You also will
meet periodically with Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education
(MSGME) faculty members, administrators and your program director
to discuss your career goals.
Mayo Clinic recruits many of its staff physicians from its graduate
medical education programs. Thus, when you successfully complete
your training, job opportunities may be available at one of Mayo
Clinic's group practices.
Advanced Training
At the conclusion of your residency, you may wish to continue
your education through a MSGME fellowship. Many areas offer multiple
advanced fellowships.
Advanced degrees (M.S. or Ph.D.) in the biomedical sciences are
offered through the Clinical
Research Training Program. Often programs can be customized
to your career goals.
Board Review Courses
To prepare for board examinations, you may participate in written
self-assessment and mock oral examinations.
Continuing Medical Education

300 courses and 7,300 hours of cutting-edge continuing medical education
each year. Mayo CME course are available to residents, fellows and
