Transportation and Parking

Rochester offers a reliable, affordable bus system with regular stops on the Mayo Clinic downtown campus and Saint Marys Hospital. Most residents and fellows, however, prefer the convenience of having their own vehicle.

While some live within walking distance of the campus, those who commute will need a car when on evening clinical rotations.

Mayo operates an inter-campus shuttle system that provides transportation for staff, trainees and students between the Mayo Clinic downtown, Saint Marys Hospital campus and the Mayo parking lots.

Parking is available for residents and fellows in Mayo's parking lots or ramps near the clinical buildings and hospitals. Details are provided during orientation.
